Primary Purpose:

Provide specialized multisensory instruction consultation for the appropriate provision of phonics and the structure of language instruction to students identified with dyslexia. Participate in the assessment process for students with reading difficulties and participate in ARD process for students identified with dyslexia and other related disorders.

 

Education/Certification:

Master’s degree from accredited college or university
Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with special education endorsement
Licensed Dyslexia Therapist or Certified Academic Language Therapist or successfully enrolled in the program to become a certified therapist.

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of the reading process
Knowledge of dyslexia and related disorders
Knowledge of dyslexia assessment, the meaning of evaluation and identification dyslexia
Demonstrated competency in reading instruction
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

Three years’ experience providing dyslexia services in the public school setting

 

 Applicants will be screened prior to interviews. Not all applicants will be interviewed.
